Eliz. Cox 1838 | Historical Reproduction Sampler | Scarlet Letter

Product Description

Brand: Scarlet Letter

This 19th century English sampler was completed in 1838 by 10 year-old Eliz. Cox, who incorporated an unusual "lollipop" border in both cross and counted satin stitches. The bottom half of the sampler is dominated by an elaborate agrarian scene, which features a thatched house, hay stacks, farm buildings and pasture lands, but surprisingly, no animals.
